Shelby's Rooftop - July 21, 2024

We hardly ever go on rooftops for Restaurant Club! So Gai's pick was perfect for a summer evening. Though this evening was on the tail end of a Bay Area heat wave, it was still lovely out.

Shelby's Rooftop is the 12th floor of a random Hilton Hotel across from Yerba Buena gardens!

The food was very pretty, and quite tasty. Our two desserts had us stuffed (creme brulee pictured below). This was our only summer gathering!! Exciting times, though....Matt heading off to college, and the presidential election just months away. We found out ON this day that Biden had dropped out of the race and Kamala Harris was likely going to be the Democratic nominee. Wonder what will happen?! Terrifying (and exciting?). By the time we read this again, we will either be weeping or smiling. Lol.

Contigo: Kitchen - Cava

Noe Valley hotspot. Delicious tapas and cava. We favored the rose cava. We met for an early dinner since Contigo didn't take reservations. Despite the few stuffed shirts and babies (along with baby strollers, trikes), we managed to have yet another fabulous Restaurant Club. Favorites included patatas bravas, 2 kinds of flatbreads, mushroom stuffed calamari, gorgeous tomato salad, chorizo burger, scrumptious goat cheese and cured jambon, and for dessert: churros in chocolate sauce and Blue Bottle Coffee Icecream! Besharam - February 25, 2024

Julia convinced Dionne to select Besharam after seeing an episode on Check, Please Bay Area. It did not disappoint!! Located in Dog Patch (previously, a non-existent neighborhood), the food was gorgeous and delicious. It featured Indian street food, but unlike I've ever had before. Great celebration of January and February birthdays!!!

La Urbana

La Urbana on Divisadero. Dionne's pick! This was a hip take on Mexian-ish food. "Modern Mexican Cuisine" they call it! I can't really remember how well we liked it since I got behind on my posts. I'm sure we had margaritas! This was the first R. Club after little Stella's birth. This gathering was a toast to her, and Julia and Steph's January birthdays! Here's little Stella! Jan. 26, 2014.
