Iyasare (Berkeley)

I've been meaning to try Iyasare on Fourth Street in Berkeley forever, so I finally had a chance with my best buds! This is an upscale sushi place that is so lovely, and Fourth Street is so quiet on Sunday nights!  Lots of pretty and delicious food. This was Julia's pick for the summer: June 23, 2019.  We had a good time hanging out here. Definitely worth going back to for us east bay folks.

Fiorella - Polk

Stephanie's pick... an effort to get us out into the hood we actually used to hang out in! We hadn't been to Polk Street in ages!!! So we had dinner set for the early bird special because of limited availably at this popular spot. We started with nona's meatballs, which were divine. Then we had butter beans with greens -- also, very delicious. We shared two wood-fired pizzas (pictured below, with a little extra burn) and two pastas. The pizzas were a bit oily, but the mushroom topping was delicious. The pastas were simple and creamy. Dessert was a chocolate mousse-type thing and a lemon cake. We devoured both.  And sure enough, by 6:30pm, the place was packed!  We kept reminiscing that this spot must have been Polkers back in the day when we went to Cruch Gym (at the Alhambra theatre), walked over for brunch in our work out clothes, then sauntered somewhere else for cocktails....and then found ourselves still in our gym clothes at 5pm partying it up. Our reminiscing...

Son's Addition

Son's Addition was Dionne's pick for this spring outing.  This is a really nice restaurant in the Mission with California/Latin fare. I wish I could remember the food, but I can't!!! Just glad we could all make it out! This was close to our 14-YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!

International Smoke

Gail's pick for Ayesha's Curry's fabulous restaurant. This was even better this second time around. The ambiance is fantastic: beautiful restaurant, really great food. I think the photo says it all!!!

Agave Uptown!

Restaurant Club hit Oakland for the last dinner of 2018! This popular spot in uptown Oakland is known for its Mezcal.  And it did not disappoint. Julia, Stepanie and Dionne happily sipped their mezcal cocktails while Gail stuck to the usual (vino, of course!). The meal was far too filling thanks to the bottomless bowl of homemade tortilla chips. Agave Uptown also features mole, so we all tried mole in one form or another. It was all delicious, and a super lively environment. Was good to change things up and close out the year. We chatted about parents, kids, and how annoying it is to rear end someone (ahem, Steph)! This was Julia's pick. Love to all!

ALX Gastropub

ALX Gastropub This fun spot in SOMA was Stephanie's pick! This spot on Folsom has high ceilings and is a bit factory-like.  For the massive space, it wasn't very crowded, which is too bad. The menu was pretty much American fare, but was tasty (not cheap!). It was a nice fall restaurant club spot! This is Julia right before she parked --- after parking on Folsom Street across the street from the restaurant, several guys walked up to my car and tried to open the doors to my car! They thought I was their Uber driver!! Only in this day and age and in SF did it not even phase me -- I was like: I'm parking! Lol.

Tartine Manufactury

Tartine Manufactury was Dionne's pick. Located in dogpatch/Potrero Hill, the restaurant originates from Tartine Bakery (yum), so the bread was super fresh and delicious. Scrumptious dessert featured here. And of course the food was super fresh and delicious. This was a fun summer spot -- 8/18/19.
