Agave Uptown!

Restaurant Club hit Oakland for the last dinner of 2018! This popular spot in uptown Oakland is known for its Mezcal.  And it did not disappoint. Julia, Stepanie and Dionne happily sipped their mezcal cocktails while Gail stuck to the usual (vino, of course!). The meal was far too filling thanks to the bottomless bowl of homemade tortilla chips.
Agave Uptown also features mole, so we all tried mole in one form or another. It was all delicious, and a super lively environment.
Was good to change things up and close out the year.
We chatted about parents, kids, and how annoying it is to rear end someone (ahem, Steph)!

Noe Valley hotspot. Delicious tapas and cava. We favored the rose cava. We met for an early dinner since Contigo didn't take reservations. Despite the few stuffed shirts and babies (along with baby strollers, trikes), we managed to have yet another fabulous Restaurant Club. Favorites included patatas bravas, 2 kinds of flatbreads, mushroom stuffed calamari, gorgeous tomato salad, chorizo burger, scrumptious goat cheese and cured jambon, and for dessert: churros in chocolate sauce and Blue Bottle Coffee Icecream! Besharam - February 25, 2024

Julia convinced Dionne to select Besharam after seeing an episode on Check, Please Bay Area. It did not disappoint!! Located in Dog Patch (previously, a non-existent neighborhood), the food was gorgeous and delicious. It featured Indian street food, but unlike I've ever had before.   Great celebration of January and February birthdays!!!

La Urbana on Divisadero. Dionne's pick! This was a hip take on Mexian-ish food. "Modern Mexican Cuisine" they call it! I can't really remember how well we liked it since I got behind on my posts.  I'm sure we had margaritas! This was the first R. Club after little Stella's birth. This gathering was a toast to her, and Julia and Steph's January birthdays!  Here's little Stella! Jan. 26, 2014.
