Prairie

Holiday Restaurant Club and the last one of this decade!!!! Prairie (Stephanie's choice) was a great sign-off for 2019!

In the heart of the Mission, Prairie is a very cute restaurant with exceptional food. We ate roasted octopus, uni butter with soft bread, lobster pasta, chili-flaked cauliflower, "birthday" cake (with a candle!), decadent pudding, and lots of cocktails wine and even spiked eggnog (Julia).

This was such a special R. Club, as we went around the table reminiscing on the highs and lows of the decade and the year. The overwhelming consensus was that friendships are as important as any other relationship in our lives. Spending time with friends - knowing they're there through thick and thin -- makes for a far more fulfilling life. As we get older and our kids become less dependent on us, our friendships will remain the constant that can fill our hearts and time. We are so fortunate to have Restaurant Club thriving after 15 years!!! We've been through literally every life event together. In the last decade, we've seen marriages, babies, lost loved ones, roughed out the ups and downs of marriage, jobs, and yet the constant, through all of it, was our friendship. Yes, as Dionne said, cliche but true: "Blessed!"

Signing off 2019 with xoxoxoxo!

Frisson

First ever meeting of the Restaurant Club! This swanky Financial District restaurant/lounge was the perfect choice to kick of our new R. Club (ultimately, Frisson to close down). After hearing Dionne state that she didn't want a drink due to a supposed hangover from the night before, the truth came out that she was preggers (with Matty). We got a free bottle of wine from Gail's friend, JP. The atmosphere was better than the food here. Just the beginning of years of fun... 5/20/05

Opaque: Dining in the Dark

(Dionne's pick). Was quite a trip to dine int eh dark. We couldn't see anything, it was pitch black!! Was scary at first, then fun, then hilarious. The service SUCKED - it was the waiter's first day. And he told us to be quieter because I guess someone was complaining. Food was not even that good, except for the first course of tuna tartare. Very overpriced ($99 pp), plus then booze (stemless glasses). Kind of a rip. 4/25/09.
