Prairie

Holiday Restaurant Club and the last one of this decade!!!! Prairie (Stephanie's choice) was a great sign-off for 2019!

In the heart of the Mission, Prairie is a very cute restaurant with exceptional food. We ate roasted octopus, uni butter with soft bread, lobster pasta, chili-flaked cauliflower, "birthday" cake (with a candle!), decadent pudding, and lots of cocktails wine and even spiked eggnog (Julia).

This was such a special R. Club, as we went around the table reminiscing on the highs and lows of the decade and the year. The overwhelming consensus was that friendships are as important as any other relationship in our lives. Spending time with friends - knowing they're there through thick and thin -- makes for a far more fulfilling life. As we get older and our kids become less dependent on us, our friendships will remain the constant that can fill our hearts and time. We are so fortunate to have Restaurant Club thriving after 15 years!!! We've been through literally every life event together. In the last decade, we've seen marriages, babies, lost loved ones, roughed out the ups and downs of marriage, jobs, and yet the constant, through all of it, was our friendship. Yes, as Dionne said, cliche but true: "Blessed!"

Signing off 2019 with xoxoxoxo!

Contigo: Kitchen - Cava

Noe Valley hotspot. Delicious tapas and cava. We favored the rose cava. We met for an early dinner since Contigo didn't take reservations. Despite the few stuffed shirts and babies (along with baby strollers, trikes), we managed to have yet another fabulous Restaurant Club. Favorites included patatas bravas, 2 kinds of flatbreads, mushroom stuffed calamari, gorgeous tomato salad, chorizo burger, scrumptious goat cheese and cured jambon, and for dessert: churros in chocolate sauce and Blue Bottle Coffee Icecream! Mmmm..... (oh, this was Gail's pick). Everyone present.9/18/09

Rich Table (Feb 21, 2021)

NEWS FLASH:   HALLELUJAH!!!   RESTAURANT CLUB REVIVED AFTER ONE-YEAR COVID HIATUS. Praise the Lord! It had been over a year since the FOUR of us were able to dine together for Restaurant Club and coming together at Rich Table was like being awakened from the dead. Nothing like 12 months of sheltering at home to make you appreciate the beauty and thrill of our friendship. Everything was so delicious, that neither the SF police sirens, ambulances, or random passserbys could distract from this glorious meal.  From the cocktails, to the appetizers and mains, everything at Rich Table was so delicious (Dionne's pick!). Maybe it tasted extra great because we'd been so deprived of one another's company, or maybe this has always been a totally killer restaurant - either way, it made me hyper and so excited to be here! We'd all missed this sooooo much. We can only pray that it's all up from here for 2021! We had:T ONNARELLI pasta with sea urchin. Amazing! The fish was so ...

Frisson

First ever meeting of the Restaurant Club! This swanky Financial District restaurant/lounge was the perfect choice to kick of our new R. Club (ultimately, Frisson to close down). After hearing Dionne state that she didn't want a drink due to a supposed hangover from the night before, the truth came out that she was preggers (with Matty). We got a free bottle of wine from Gail's friend, JP. The atmosphere was better than the food here. Just the beginning of years of fun... 5/20/05
