Co Nam

We started 2017 at a Vietnamese Restaurant called Co Nam. Julia's pick because she couldn't resist digging into the flavors of Vietnam after her amazing trip. Unfortunately, other than the papaya salad, Co Nam didn't live up to any of the authentic flavors of Vietnam. It was pretty good, but not outstanding, and quite pricey for what it was.

It was nice to take a trip down Memory Lane - i.e. Polk Street, where none of us had been in quite a while.  It was nice reprieve from the grim political climate of 2017. Trump was inaugurated 9 days ago, and Stephanie and Dionne were at the women's march in Washington, D.C.

We all don't know what the future holds, though it gets more depressing by the way, but at least we have each other!!

Frisson

First ever meeting of the Restaurant Club! This swanky Financial District restaurant/lounge was the perfect choice to kick of our new R. Club (ultimately, Frisson to close down). After hearing Dionne state that she didn't want a drink due to a supposed hangover from the night before, the truth came out that she was preggers (with Matty). We got a free bottle of wine from Gail's friend, JP. The atmosphere was better than the food here. Just the beginning of years of fun... 5/20/05

Opaque: Dining in the Dark

(Dionne's pick). Was quite a trip to dine int eh dark. We couldn't see anything, it was pitch black!! Was scary at first, then fun, then hilarious. The service SUCKED - it was the waiter's first day. And he told us to be quieter because I guess someone was complaining. Food was not even that good, except for the first course of tuna tartare. Very overpriced ($99 pp), plus then booze (stemless glasses). Kind of a rip. 4/25/09.
