Alta SF: November 15, 2015

I'm saying it again, except this time: Market Street near the civic center ain't what it used to be. Twitter-ati have spawned the opening of many interesting and upscale restaurants along Market St. We dined at one such establishment: Alta. This was a unique combination of Californian, Middle-Eastern, and even Eastern-European cuisine. We started off with deviled eggs and a superior version of chicarrones (pictured below). The pumpkin perogi would have even brought tears to my babushka's eyes (though she would have tsk-tsked at its lack of authenticity...pumpkin, really?). Still, that was my favorite dish of the night. Entrees were interesting...a pork hash-y thing that I still can't describe, but was yummy. Gail had some kind of porridge that, from her reaction, even the three bears might have turned their noses from. Dessert was fun - pick your own ice cream toppings! Apple pie and toffee crisp were our selections and they were delicious. As were the super-gooey, melt...

Aperto in Potrero Hill

Potrero Hill ain't what it used to be. It's crawling with fabulous restaurants, including Aperto. Great food at a SUCH a reasonable price. We ate a lot and I think our bill was $40 each! HA!  R. Club is tightening its belt. Oh, and Stephanie is expecting!  Even though I felt like crap this evening, I still had a great time catching up with my girlfriends. Nothing can keep me away!   This was Gail's pick!!

Mourad: Upscale Middle Eastern

I remember that this was Julia's pick. I wanted something a little different, and I love middle eastern cuisine. This was delicious, and so beautiful, in a gigantic space on New Montgomery. I really enjoyed this restaurant on a summer evening!

Plin SF: Restaurant Club's 10th Anniversary!

Plin WAS a lovely Italian restaurant in the Mission/Potrero area. It was hipster central, I remember that. Alas, Plin is no more, making way for another trendy SF restaurant. This was our tin (10th!!) anniversary, so how appropriate we go to Plin for Tin. I think this was Stephanie's pick.
