Than Long

Julia's pikc. Waaaaaay out in the Sunset. Same menu as Crustacean. Too expensive! Dionne not present. 11/17/06. This was our holiday dinner!

Platanos

Mission joint. Dionne's pick. Everyone present. Excellent pupusas. Great Sangria (woo hoo!). Casual dining. Unfortunately, this place eventually went out of business. 9/22/06

Farmer Brown

Steph's Pick. Guest: Leila. Outstanding food like fried chicken, mashed sweet potatoes with plantains, and watermelon margaritas! Awesome mint juleps too. Industrial-like setting in the Tenderloin. One of our faves so far! 7/21/06

Crustacean

Gail's pick. Present: Julia, Gail, Steph and guest Melissa Souder (Dionne got the date wrong). Great crab! Amaaaazing garlic noodles (what they're famous for). Semi-swanky interior, but window view was of "Shoe Pavillion." We all got pretty wasted by the end of the night. We ended up in North Beach. 6/2/06

2223

Steph's pick. On Market St., in the Castro. Was really just OK. May 2006.

Baraka

Julia's Pick. Joan Sinclair was our guest. Food was well-prepared and had great, strong flavors. Small portions, but lovely. We had our own (and the only) booth. Lamb kebobs were great. Nice accents. Real champagne with "tiny bubbles" (ie sparkling wine from Spain). Gail's choice. Oh, and the chocolate cake was a glorified Hoho. 4/21/06

Calibri

Dionne's pick. But Steph not present. Very different Mexican food. Great Tequila. In Union Square, quality food. Definitely would go back. Amazing guacamole as pictured here. 3/10/06

Supperclub

Gail's pick. Fabulous!! So much fun, lots of dancing, so different. Food was pretty good. We even got massages. Grace was with us. The place is couches, so you're just laying around, eating, schmoozing. very very cool. 1/27/06
