Piccino

t had been too long since we've met!  Finally, for 2012 we kicked off the year (in April - eek) at Piccino. Great pizza, casual, good food.  We ventured out to the Dogpatch.  That was a first.  This was Gail's pick, but unfortunately, she couldn't make it, so Julia, Steph, and Dionne shared stories & a good meal! again, photo has expired but here are my kids in May 2012 I

Locanda

October 28, 2011: Julia's pick. Once again, photo expired but here is the Jayne family in october 2011!

Bar Jules

Sept 9, 2011. We ate everything on the menu, and everything was delicious!! Hayes Valley is fabulous. Dionne's pick. Gail's first R. Club since having Nicholas!

Gitane: March 4, 2011

Gitane was a lovely Mediterranean/French/African (?) cuisine. My ribs were up there with the best I've had - sticky sweet, and a large portion. Bacon bonbons were also pretty damn good. For dessert, beignets with "naughty cream" were definitely naughty good. This was Julia's pick - and the first to start off 2011. I loved the chandeliers and decore at this Union Square spot. This starts off year SIX of Restaurant Club!!! All 4 original members still hanging in there. Now, Gail is married & pregnant (due in June). Steph is in a serious relationship with Clay. xo.

Cotogna

If I can now recall correctly, Jackson Square Italian restaurant, Cotogna, had some really tasty dishes. Since I'm posting this too late, I don't remember any of them. Anyway, I'm sure we had a good time. This was in December 2010, just before the holidays. It was Steph's pick and we were all there!

Marlowe

Marlowe - Nov. 5, 2010. Dionne's Pick. Marlowe - not only one of my favorite girl names, but now one of my favorite Cal Cuisine restaurants. We've actual been at this locale before - when it was South. The space has a similar feel, with white-washed brick and reclaimed wood tables, but the food was far superior to South' s. The menu was pretty short, but the options were really good. The hamburger was perfection - with bacon, cheddar and apparently, had a bit of lamb mixed in. I'm going back for that, because I had the tender, juicy, lovely pork chops. My favorite item is pictured to the right - brussel sprout chips! OMG. To die for. So so so so good. I had to order a second batch. Dessert was kind of boozy, but delicious - a whoopie pumpkin creamy mix in a Mason jar, and a heavy-on-the-espresso vanilla panna cotta. Delish!!!
